Hello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Mary and I’m going to demonstrate how to determine if your doctor or facility is the Aetna network.

We’ll start here. This is the page we created for you and the other City of New York retirees.

On this site you'll find information about the City of New York Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan.

Now, let's get started.

There are two spots on this page that take you to the provider search.

1. The first is here. A link here at the top of the page.
2. And the second, if we scroll down to here, beneath the heading Find a doctor or hospital near you.

Let’s click this link, Find a doctor or hospital.

A quick and easy way to begin this search is to Continue as guest on the right side of the screen.

Here's an example. I put in my location first — either zip code, city, county, or state.

I’ll use my zip code, 10314. The website recognizes what I’m typing and offers options in the drop-down box. I'll select the one that applies to me.

My provider is close by, so I'll move this slider to search within 3 miles of my location.

Press search here.

Now that I've specified my location, I can search for the provider or facility by name here.

There's also an option on this page to search by category such as medical doctor and specialist, hospital, urgent care, walk-in, pharmacy and more. This is really useful if you're looking for a new in-network provider or facility. When you click on these boxes, you’ll be guided to a list of in-network providers and facilities that are within the location and proximity specified on the previous screen.

Right now, I’ll search by my doctor’s name to see if he is in network and press enter on the keyboard.

My results show a green check mark beneath the provider’s name, confirming he is in network. And in network at the facility listed here.
